About the Journal
Verbum et Lingua: Didáctica, lengua y cultura is an academic journal, in digital version, published by scholars the Modern Languages Department of the University Center of Social Sciences and Humanities within the University of Guadalajara and has been conceived as a publication specialized in the study of languages from linguistic, didactic, cultural and related areas. It is published every six months, from January to June and from July to December. It publishes unpublished research and reflection articles as well as reviews and interviews on didactics, linguistics and cultural studies in five languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, without restricting the study of other languages. Verbum et Lingua is the result of institutional cooperation and the joint work of professors and researchers from the University of Guadalajara and recognized national and foreign universities.
Papers submitted to the journal must be original and unpublished and must not have been sent for evaluation to other journals. Current Issue

Dear readers,
We are pleased to present the twenty-sixth edition (June–December 2025) of Verbum et Lingua: Didactics, Language and Culture, now published under a continuous publication model. Staying true to its international and multilingual spirit, this issue brings together contributions from authors in Mexico and abroad, written in Spanish, French and English, covering a wide range of topics in linguistics, didactics, and cultural studies.
This issue opens with the article First Notions for Developing a Theory of Critical Polyphony and Its Configuration: An Application Example in Antígona González by Sara Uribe, by Ana Gabriela Vázquez de la Torre (University of Guadalajara), which offers an innovative perspective on literary analysis through the lens of critical polyphony.
About the Journal
Verbum et Lingua: Didáctica, Lengua y Cultura is a peer-reviewed digital journal published by the Department of Modern Languages at the Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, University of Guadalajara. It is a specialized platform for the study of language through linguistic, didactic, cultural, and related interdisciplinary perspectives.
The journal follows a continuous publication model with two issues per year (January–June and July–December). It publishes original and unpublished research articles, theoretical reflections, pedagogical interventions, as well as book reviews and interviews focused on language teaching, linguistics, and cultural studies. Submissions are accepted in German, Spanish, French, English, and Italian, and studies on other languages are also welcome.
Verbum et Lingua is the result of institutional collaboration and the collective work of scholars and researchers from the University of Guadalajara and renowned national and international universities.
