Abstract

For what reason is it not so easy and accepted to speak about « linguistic discrimination » in France, even with specialists of discriminations? After presenting the criteria according to which linguistic discrimination is nevertheless both illegitimate and illegal, I point out here sociopolitical elements that make it ordinary. What I call « glottophobia » appears to be the consequence of a national identity ideology spread in all parts of society, reaching out lots of our private behaviours. How can we get rid of it?
