Turismo médico: un enfoque del posicionamiento discursivo académico

El turismo médico es un campo de estudio explorado desde la interdisciplina de las ciencias sociales -negocios y turismo- y salud pu?blica. Desafortunadamente, las cifras de la industria del turismo médico y una variedad de su información es especulativa, anecdótica y llena de matices y contradicciones, porque proviene de las experiencias y opiniones de los viajeros médicos [1]. Desde 1990, las publicaciones de estudios de turismo se han conformado seis plataformas teóricas que siguen vigentes y en un continuo cambio: Incidencia, Precaución, Adaptación, Cientificidad, Interés Público y Desarrollo Sostenible [2] [3]. La intención principal de este documento es proporcionar un punto de partida para identificar, agrupar y analizar la información sobre destinos de turismo médico en los medios de comunicación. El análisis toma como punto de partida los temas capturados en la literatura centrados en la marca, posicionamiento del destino, ética y estandarización de los servicios del negocio del turismo y las plataformas teóricas de Jafari para contextualizar el desarrollo del campo. Particularmente, se intenta mostrar cómo se ha construído la discusión del turismo médico internacional. Si el la literatura académica sobre el mercado del turismo médico contiene diferentes características que incorporan temas de responsabilidad social, cultura de consumo, mercantilización contemporánea y están ligados al desarrollo sostenible.Citas
