Biología de Chilocorus cacti Linnaeus (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) en condiciones de laboratorio

Se determinó la biología de Chilocorus cacti Linnaeus, 1767 como depredador de la grana cochinilla (Dactylopius spp.), asociada al cultivo de nopal verdura en Milpa Alta, D. F. El estudio se realizó en una cámara de cría, bajo condiciones de temperatura de 25 ±2ºC, 45% de humedad relativa y fotoperiodo de 16 h de luz y 8 h de obscuridad. Su ciclo de vida tuvo una duración promedio de 89 días. El huevo 9 días; la larva 29; la pupa 10 días y el adulto 41 días. En la especie no se registró canibalismo entre adultos, pero sí lo hubo entre larvas, larvas contra huevos, y adultos contra huevos.References
