First record of Onychocerus albitarsis Pascoe, 1859 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Lamiinae: Anisocerini) from Paraguay
Main Text
Onychocerus albitarsis (Fig. 1) is a famous South America species of Cerambycidae because it is the only known species of Coleoptera that can inject chemicals. This is the only known beetle that has antennae modified with stingers. This species has been collected in Brasil (Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Goias, Ceara, Espirito Santo, Maranhâo, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo), Bolivia (Santa Cruz) and southern Peru. Recently we received some beetles from Paraguay. One specimen was a male of Onychocerus albitarsis. Locality data, which are a new country record for this species, are: Paraguay, Concepcion, Garay Cue, 25-27.I.2016, Ulf Dreschel.
